Summer Meal Programs - Meal Count Measure Dataset - 2020

This dataset lists monthly meals served by Seamless Summer Option (SSO) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) sites between March and September 2020 as of October 19, 2021. <p>

This dataset is a merge of SFSP and SSO Contacts data and Meal Count data for the purposes of visualizations on the <a href=https://data.texas.gov/stories/s/52en-tt82 target="_blank">Summer Meals Data Overview page </a>. Please refer to the original datasets for the most detailed and updated information.<p>

In March 2020, USDA began allowing flexibility in nutrition assistance program policies to support continued meal access during the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). This included providing School Nutrition Program sponsors the option to provide meals through Seamless Summer Option (SSO) or Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) during the school year.<p>
