Climate Change Impacts on Water Resources in Tanzania: Simulation Dataset

This dataset contains the hydrological simulation data reported in the article by Adhikari et al. (2016) found attached to the data asset.

Gridded daily historical climate data was constructed from Climate Research Unit (CRU) monthly data. Outputs from six climate models (CanESM2, CCSM4, CSIROMK3.6, IPSL-CM5A-LR, MPI-ESM-LR, and MRI-CGCM3) were used to construct the future climate scenarios. The whole country was divided into 17 watersheds based on the FAO watershed delineation. SWAT hydrological model was used to simulate the historical (1981-2000) as well as future (1941-2060) hydrological conditions.

The dataset has 57 variables and 895441 records. It contains the historical as well as future hydrological conditions under RCP 8.5 scenario projected by the six climate models (CanESM2, CCSM4, CSIROMK3.6, IPSL-CM5A-LR, MPI-ESM-LR, and MRI-CGCM3).

Querying over HTTP

Splitgraph serves as an HTTP API that lets you run SQL queries directly on this data to power Web applications. For example:

curl https://data.splitgraph.com/sql/query/ddn \
    -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
    -d@-<<EOF
{"sql": "
    SELECT *
    FROM \"usaid-gov/climate-change-impacts-on-water-resources-in-xssc-gb6c\".\"climate_change_impacts_on_water_resources_in\"
    LIMIT 100
"}
EOF
