Strategic Measure_Financial Stability of the City of Austin Employees' Retirement Systems
This dataset contains information about the financial stability of the City of Austin's employees' retirement systems, including the City of Austin Employees' Retirement System (COAERS), the Austin Firefighters Retirement System (AFRS), and the Austin Police Retirement System (APRS). It uses the total funded ratio, which is equal to the total actuarial value of assets as a percentage of the total actuarial accrued liability. This data supports the SD23 measure GTQ.A.6. Having a funded ratio of below 80% could potentially impact credit rating agencies' evaluation of the City's pension liabilities, so this ratio is important to measure through annual actuarial valuation reports for all three retirement systems.
