Waste and Recycling Services Performance Measures
Waste & Recycling Services Performance Measures are used to assess the performance of The City of Calgary's waste services. Four measures have been approved for the One Calgary 2019-2022 Service Plans and Budgets: annual waste disposed at City of Calgary landfills per person, annual Black Cart waste collected per household, per cent of residential waste diverted from landfill through Blue and Green Cart programs, and average response time for a Waste & Recycling Service Request. Since the Blue Cart Program was first implemented in 2009, the program continues to receive less material as packaging types change and printed materials decline. The Green Cart Program was implemented in the second half of 2017, and was completed in conjunction with a change from weekly to every other week Black Cart collection.|
