Data DescriptionSingle RowCharity name and id along with associated solicitor name location and contactCollection ModeData supplied by charities, paid solicitors, and professional fundraising consultants in filings required by the Colorado Charitable Solicitations ActLong DescriptionSolicitation notices are documents filed by paid solicitors and signed by their charity clients prior to the commencement of a solicitation campaign. They disclose who is conducting the solicitation campaign, the charitable purpose of the campaign, the amount of compensation the paid solicitor anticipates receiving, the locations of call centers (aka phone rooms), and the duration of the campaign. This data set consists of the addresses and telephone numbers of call centers listed on solicitation notices, as well as the name and address of the paid solicitor and their charity client, solicitation notice ID number, and registration numbers of the paid solicitors and their charity clients. The Colorado office of the Secretary of State Division of Charity registers charitable organizations that solicit contributions in Colorado and their professional fundraisers. A "charitable organization" means any person who is or holds himself out to be established for any benevolent, educational, philanthropic, humane, scientific, patriotic, social welfare or advocacy, public health, environmental conservation, civic, or other eleemosynary purpose, any person who operates for the benefit of the objectives of law enforcement officers, firefighters, other persons who protect the public safety, or veterans, or any person who employs a charitable appeal as the basis for any solicitation.
