Educational Attainment of Young Adults Ages 18-24

This dataset includes annual estimates of educational attainment for the population ages 18-24. Through its American Community Survey, the U.S. Census Bureau produces 1-year estimates for geographies with populations of 65,000 and greater. The educational attainment estimates reports a percentage of the population who have completed increasing levels of education from less than high school completion to a bachelor’s degree or higher. Estimates are for the highest level of education completed.

Young Adult Educational Attainment for each level of education (No High School Completion, High School Completion or Equivalency, Some College or Associate’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree or Higher) is calculated as:

(# Young Adults Possessing xLevel of Education/Total Population Ages 18-24) x 100. Note that the Census Bureau calculates and reports educational attainment rates. No further calculations are required.
