County Fire Department - Fire Hazard Reduction and Vegetation Management
Marin County Fire Crews' physical removal of brush, trees and other vegetation at various Marin locations, to reduce fire hazard and/or treat invasive species. Marin County Fire Department works on lands owned or controlled by the County, State, Federal, public agencies and private landowners. These agencies and landowners often cost share with the Fire Department. Because Fire/Vegetation Management resources are limited, County Fire seeks to prioritize its work on projects yielding the highest benefits to reducing the fire hazard. Fire crew sizes vary but are typically 12 to 24 people. Data begins June 2017 and is updated every calendar quarter.
