Coral Data for MINISTRY OF MARINE AFFAIRS AND FISHERIES REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA - Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network (GCRMN)
The narrative of what the data includes follows:
- Data consist of coral coverage. All inputted in the excel following GCRMN instructions which written in the sheet named information in each excel. There are four organizations working with SEA Project in the data survey: WWF (World Wildlife Fund), WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society), CTC (Coral Triangle Center) and CI (Conservation International).
- Coral survey using Point Intercept Transect (PIT) methodology with 50 meters length in 3 and 10 meters depth. Coral data cover 11 Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in East Indonesia supported by SEA Project: in Maluku Province (Buano MPA, Koon MPA, Serutbar MPA, Lease MPA); in North Maluku Province (Guraici MPA, Mare MPA, Dehegila-Rao Bay MPA, Widi MPA and Sula MPA); in West Papua Province (Fakfak Berau Bay MPA and Fakfak Nusalasi Bay MPA). The data is one series that been taken in 2016 or 2017 or 2018. The sampling points in some MPAs are inside the MPA boundaries. Even though it is inside the MPA the condition is actually not protected because the MPA is still not active in term of the management.
