NS Climate Change Projections (CMIP5)

Climate change projections for the province of Nova Scotia and its 18 individual census divisions (counties).

Querying over HTTP

Splitgraph serves as an HTTP API that lets you run SQL queries directly on this data to power Web applications. For example:

For example, the column "rcp45 p05 2010" displays results for the RCP4.5 scenario, for the fifth percentile (p05) of the multi-model ensemble, for the 1981-2010 time period. This information was generated through an ensemble of 27 climate models as part of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)’s Coupled Model Intercomparison Project 5 (CMIP5), with the data statistically downscaled for Canada by the Pacific Climate Impacts Consortium (PCIC) using the BCCAQv2 method (downloaded from https://data.pacificclimate.org/portal/downscaled_gcms/map/ in December 2019), with index calculations completed using the Climpact2 tool on behalf of the Province of Nova Scotia.
